What you should know about Genealogy Society Durham Region Branch
The Durham Branch is part of the Ontario Genealogical Society. Our members focus on preserving information that will be useful for anyone doing research on ancestors from the Durham Region. Our branch takes in the following eight municipalities: City of Pickering, Town of Brock.Our branch goal is to encourage, Town of Uxbridge, Town of Scugog, Muncipality of Clarington, City of Oshawa, Town of Whitby, bring together and assist those interested in the pursuit of genealogy and family history in the Durham Region. We are located in Eastern part of the GTA, just an hour east of Toronto. Our branch started in 1982 and currently has nearly 300 members. We also provide a sound base for researchers living here who have ancestors in other areas around the world.
